Grown in the lush, mist-covered fields of Kagoshima, Japan, our matcha is a true expression of nature’s elegance and the mastery of generations of tea cultivation. Kagoshima, renowned for its volcanic soil and temperate climate, offers the ideal conditions for cultivating vibrant, flavourful tea leaves.
Every leaf is carefully shade-grown in the traditional style, a process that deepens the green color and enhances the natural umami and sweetness of the tea. During the critical weeks before harvest, the tea plants are covered to protect them from direct sunlight—this meticulous practice allows the leaves to develop a richer concentration of chlorophyll and amino acids, especially L-theanine, giving our matcha its distinct creamy depth and delicate complexity.

Behind each cup of our matcha lies the art of Japanese tea farming—a balance of science, tradition, and intuition. From planting to plucking, every step is handled with care and deep knowledge. Our matcha is made exclusively in Japan using only ceremonial-grade tea leaves, picked at the peak of freshness and processed in a dedicated facility that preserves their vibrant colour, smooth texture, and naturally sweet flavour.
Our supplier manages their own tea farm in Kagoshima. While they offer teas from many regions and cultivars, our cultivar blend is a balanced blend of Yabukita, Asanoka, Okumidori, Saemidori, Okuyutaka, Sakimidori in Kagoshima—ensuring a pure, consistent expression of the region’s unique terroir and character.
